What is a sweeptake?
A 'sweepstake' in the UK is a lottery where the prize is paid for using the tickets sold. They are most popular in the office (they are called Office Pools in the US), you put a stake into the prize pot, and get a team drawn out of the hat. The winner then takes the pot, sometimes with a prize also for 2nd place. You can also play just for fun or raise money for charity with a Euro Sweepstake.
