Euro 2008 Stadium in Geneva, Switzerland
The Stade de Geneve was opened on the 16th March 2003, situated in the second most heavily populated city in Switzerland which is Geneva. It took three years to construct the Stade de Geneve stadium that has a capacity of just over 30,000 seats, all of them being covered. The stadium is home of Swiss club Servette FC and is also used to host some international friendlies. The Stade de Geneve is a very modern football arena, comprising also of a shopping complex with underground car park, hotel, TV studio, cultural centre, conference and office amenities, and a fitness club. Getting to the Stade de Geneve
The stadium is 12 km away from the airport and 3 km away from the city centre. The stadium has its own train station and the nearest electric local train service (RER) station is La Praille. Besides by this means of transport, supporters can get to the stadium using the tram, bus or Regional Express Network (La Praille station). On the bus/tram, lines #42 #42 & #48 run directly to the stadium, whilst from Gare Cornavin take Line D.
