Euro 2008 Stadium in Bern, Switzerland
The Stade de Suisse Wankdorf has a capacity of 32000, making it the second-largest stadium in Switzerland. It is found in the Swiss city Berne, mother of the famous chocolate Toblerone, and has been the home of BSC Young Boys since 2005. The stadium was opened in July 30th 2005 after being built on the same ground as the Wankdorf Stadium, demolished in 2001. Solar panels are installed on the roof of the stadium, with enough environmental-friendly energy being produced to sustain the electricity needs.
The seats of this stadium are black and yellow, however, there is one exception, an interesting idea called the 'hot seat'. It is a single red seat which was the first one installed in the stadium, it is only occupied by VIPs with ties to the club Young Boys. Facilities around or combined with the stadium are a shopping centre, apartments, offices, restaurants and also a public school. The Stade de Suisse Wankdorf will host matches from Group C, with the Netherlands playing all their group matches in this stadium. Matches will be played as follows:
