Euro 2008 in Austria & Switzerland
From June 7th to June 29th 2008 the UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2008) will take place in Austria and Switzerland. Sixteen teams will take part playing in four groups of four teams in a round robin first phase, with games played across Austria & Switzerland in eight venues.
The two hosts qualified for Euro 2008 automatically, the remaining teams were succesful in Euro 2008 qualification campaigns which started in August 2006.

This will be only the second time the tournament has been jointly hosted after Belgium & the Netherlands hosted Euro 2000, the next tournament is also expected to be jointly held after the Ukraine & Poland won the bid to host Euro 2012.
